Hawks Motorsports is proud to offer our clients this : 1970-1981 Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, and Trans Am 0.600-Inch Front Sway-Bar Mount Relocation Spacer Pair from UMI Performance.

UMI Performance 3068 relocation spacers move the front sway-bar bushing mounting locations forward by 0.600 inch. This creates additional clearance between the sway bar and steering components, helping correct sway-bar binding or interference with the idler arm and steering linkage.

The relocation can be especially useful when installing a larger aftermarket front sway bar, upgrading steering components, or correcting an existing sway-bar clearance problem. The spacers reposition the bar without altering the sway-bar geometry.

Each spacer is precision CNC laser-cut from heavy-duty 0.375-inch-thick mild steel. Slightly elongated mounting slots accommodate minor factory chassis variations, while the black-anodized finish provides corrosion and wear resistance.

The kit includes two relocation plates for servicing both front sway-bar bushing mounting locations. Installation is completed at the original frame mounting points without cutting, drilling, or welding.

UMI specifically notes that these spacers provide sway-bar-to-steering clearance. They do not create additional tire, wheel, or wheel-well clearance.

Important Fitment Notes

  • Intended for vehicles using factory-style front sway-bar bushing-strap mounting locations.
  • Compatible with factory and aftermarket sway bars using the standard frame mounting arrangement.
  • Not intended for vehicles with extensively modified frame rails or custom sway-bar mounting locations.
  • S10, S15, Blazer, Jimmy, and Sonoma applications are limited to the listed 2WD models.
  • This kit moves the sway bar forward for steering-component clearance.
  • It does not provide additional tire, wheel, or wheel-well clearance.

Installation Notes

  • Direct bolt-on installation at the existing front sway-bar frame locations.
  • Safely support the vehicle before beginning installation.
  • Lower the front sway bar sufficiently to position the relocation plates against the frame.
  • Install each plate with the relocated mounting position facing the front of the vehicle.
  • Reposition the sway-bar bushing straps onto the new forward mounting locations.
  • Adjustable end links should be set to a neutral, preload-free position at normal ride height.
  • Check idler-arm, steering-linkage, and sway-bar clearance through the complete steering range before operating the vehicle.
  • UMI estimates approximately 30–60 minutes for a typical installation.
  • Professional installation is recommended if the installer is unfamiliar with suspension or sway-bar service.
