Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1974-1981 Camaro Firebird Trans Am Dark Blue Foam-Backed Cloth Headliner Material, Material Only, Acme 74-1413-2092.
This replacement automotive headliner material is intended for recovering a clean and structurally sound original or replacement headliner board. The Dark Blue cloth face provides a smooth finished appearance, while the attached foam backing creates the cushioned layer needed between the visible material and the headliner board.
Acme’s corresponding covered headliner-board application identifies material code FB2092 as Dark Blue or Navy Blue foam-backed cloth. Hawks Motorsports uses Dark Blue as the primary color name to correspond with common 1980 GM interior terminology.
This material is suitable for replacing original headliner cloth that has become faded, stained, torn, loose or separated from deteriorated foam. It may also be used to recover a compatible board during a custom interior color conversion.
This listing includes the flexible foam-backed cloth material only. A molded headliner board, sun visors, visor brackets, roof trim, mounting hardware and installation adhesive are not included.

Application note: This product is flexible covering material, not a molded or pre-cut headliner board. Confirm that the existing board is reusable and verify the amount of material required for the vehicle’s hardtop or T-Top roof configuration before ordering.
Factory-originality note: Cloth material can be installed on compatible boards throughout the listed application range, but cloth was not the original headliner covering in every 1974-1981 Camaro or Firebird. Earlier applications may have originally used perforated vinyl. Verify the vehicle’s model year, roof style and original interior material when performing a factory-correct restoration.
INSTALLATION NOTES
Remove the headliner board from the vehicle before recovering it. Carefully remove the old covering, deteriorated foam and loose adhesive without damaging the underlying board.
The board must be clean, dry and structurally sound. Remove all remaining foam residue and repair cracks, damaged mounting points or weakened edges before applying the replacement cloth.
Dry-fit and center the material before applying adhesive. Use a high-temperature automotive headliner adhesive compatible with foam-backed cloth. Install the material gradually from the center toward the outer edges to help prevent wrinkles, trapped air and uneven tension.
Do not excessively stretch the cloth. Stretching may distort the material surface, compress the foam backing or place unnecessary strain on the adhesive bond.
Allow the adhesive to cure according to its instructions before trimming excess material or reinstalling the board. Professional installation is recommended when the existing headliner board is brittle, warped, cracked or previously repaired.
Electronic displays, photography lighting, original material aging and production dye lots can affect perceived color. Compare a physical material sample with the vehicle’s existing trim when a close Dark Blue color match is required.
