Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1974-1981 Camaro Firebird Trans Am Doeskin Foam-Backed Cloth Headliner Material, Material Only, Acme 74-1413-1711.
This replacement automotive headliner material is intended for recovering a structurally sound original or replacement headliner board. The Doeskin color provides a warm, light tan finish for Camaro, Firebird, Formula and Trans Am interior restoration or custom interior projects.
This color code 1711 Doeskin. This shade is distinct from Buckskin, Camel, Saddle, Ginger and other tan-family interior colors. Hawks Motorsports also offers complete headliner boards covered in the matching 1711 Doeskin foam-backed cloth.
The smooth cloth face provides a clean factory-style appearance, while the attached foam backing supplies the cushioned layer between the visible fabric and the headliner board. The material may be used to replace cloth that has become stained, faded, torn, loose or separated from deteriorated original foam.
This listing includes the foam-backed cloth headliner material only. A molded headliner board, sun visors, visor brackets, roof moldings, mounting hardware and installation adhesive are not included.

Application note: This listing is for flexible covering material rather than a pre-cut or molded headliner board. It may be used to recover compatible hardtop or T-Top boards, but the installer must verify the required material dimensions and roof configuration before ordering.
Factory-originality note: Acme’s covered Doeskin cloth headliner-board references most directly document 1977-1981 applications. Earlier 1974-1976 vehicles commonly used different original headliner constructions or coverings. This material may still be used on a compatible reusable board, but confirm the vehicle’s original equipment when completing a factory-correct restoration.
INSTALLATION NOTES
Remove the headliner board from the vehicle before recovering it. Carefully strip away the original covering, deteriorated foam and loose adhesive without damaging the board.
The headliner board must be clean, dry and structurally sound. Remove all loose foam residue and repair cracked edges, damaged mounting areas or weakened sections before installing the replacement cloth.
Dry-fit and center the material before applying adhesive. Use a high-temperature automotive headliner adhesive compatible with foam-backed cloth. Apply the material gradually from the center toward the outer edges to reduce wrinkles, trapped air and uneven tension.
Do not excessively stretch the cloth. Stretching can distort the fabric surface, compress the foam backing and place unnecessary stress on the adhesive bond. Allow the adhesive to cure before trimming the excess material or reinstalling the board. Acme provides separate installation guidance for its headlining products and recommends following the appropriate instructions for the specific headliner construction.
Professional installation is recommended when the original board is brittle, warped, cracked or previously repaired. Interior colors may appear different under showroom lighting, natural light or electronic displays, so a physical sample should be compared with the existing trim when a close match is required.
