Product Description:

Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1974-1981 Camaro Firebird Trans Am Ginger Foam-Backed Perforated Vinyl ABS Hardtop Headliner Board with Upper Seat Belt Retractor Cutouts, Acme AFH21-FBH7.

Replace a sagging, cracked, warped or deteriorated original headliner with this complete molded ABS replacement headliner board. The board is pre-covered in Acme Ginger foam-backed perforated vinyl, providing a finished factory-style appearance without requiring the purchaser to separately recover the headliner.

Acme identifies FBH7 as Ginger, a warm golden-brown interior shade that is cataloged separately from Neutral Tan, Camel Tan and Buckskin. The perforated vinyl face recreates the period-style appearance associated with many second-generation Camaro, Firebird, Formula and Trans Am interiors.

The vacuum-formed ABS construction provides a durable replacement for an original fiberboard or pressboard headliner damaged by age, heat, moisture or failed adhesive. The headliner is molded to follow the hardtop roof contour and includes upper rear seat belt retractor cutouts for the applicable 1974-1981 F-body roof configuration.

The board arrives pre-covered with foam-backed perforated vinyl. Openings for the dome lamp, sun visor brackets and other accessories may be formed in the ABS but remain concealed beneath the covering until they are needed during installation.

The AFH21 headliner-board family is cataloged for 1974-1981 Camaro and Firebird models and is molded in the solid-roof shape. The Ginger FBH7 covering is available as a distinct foam-backed perforated vinyl color within this application family.

Roof-style warning: This listing is for a hardtop or solid-roof headliner board. Acme’s installation instructions state that the same molded board may be cut for certain T-top installations, but the installer must mark and trim the openings to match the specific vehicle. Customers requiring a T-top headliner should verify their roof system before modifying the board.

Color note: Ginger FBH7 is a distinct Acme color. Do not confuse it with Camel Tan FBH11, Neutral Tan FBH8 or Buckskin FBH3. A physical material sample is recommended when matching aged original trim.

INSTALLATION NOTES

Remove the sun visors, visor brackets, side roof moldings, rear headliner trim, dome-light assembly and any other components retaining the original headliner. Save all reusable clips, screws, brackets and trim because these components are not normally included with the replacement board.

Carefully remove the original headliner and test-fit the new ABS board before cutting the vinyl covering. Confirm that the upper seat belt retractor openings, roof contour and surrounding trim locations align correctly.

The ABS board includes pre-cut openings beneath the covering for items such as the dome lamp and sun visor brackets. After confirming which openings are required, make a small X-shaped cut in the center of the covering, fold the excess material toward the back and secure it to create a clean finished edge.

Install the board using the original attachment locations and surrounding roof trim. Do not force the board into position or overtighten the mounting screws, as excessive pressure could damage the ABS board, vinyl covering or original moldings.

For a T-top conversion, install and align the board before marking the openings from the back. Remove the board, cut the required T-top openings and then reinstall it with the original brackets and trim moldings. Professional installation is recommended before making permanent cuts.

Colors shown on electronic displays may vary because of screen settings, photography lighting, aged original components and production dye lots. Compare a physical sample with the vehicle’s existing Ginger trim when a close color match is required.
