Product Description:
Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1974-1981 Camaro Firebird Trans Am Camel Tan Foam-Backed Perforated Vinyl ABS Hardtop Headliner Board with Upper Seat Belt Retractor Cutouts, Acme AFH21-FBH11.
Replace a sagging, warped, cracked or deteriorated original headliner with this complete molded ABS replacement headliner board. The board is pre-covered in Camel Tan foam-backed perforated vinyl, providing a finished factory-style appearance without requiring the purchaser to separately install headliner material.
The vacuum-formed ABS construction provides a durable replacement for an original pressboard or fiberboard headliner that has deteriorated from age, moisture, heat or failed adhesive. The headliner is formed in the hardtop roof shape, uses factory-style attachment locations and includes the upper rear seat belt retractor cutouts required for the applicable roof configuration.
The perforated vinyl face and attached foam backing recreate the padded appearance used on many original 1974-1981 Camaro, Firebird, Formula and Trans Am headliners. Acme application information notes that foam-backed perforated vinyl was offered throughout this model range, although certain 1977-1981 Camaros equipped with cloth interiors originally used cloth headliners.

The AFH21-FBH11 assembly is cataloged for 1974-1981 Camaro and Firebird models with solid-roof or compatible T-top roof configurations. For this Hawks Motorsports listing, it should be sold primarily as a hardtop or solid-roof headliner board because the board arrives formed in the hardtop shape.
Color application note: Camel Tan FBH11 is most closely associated with 1978, 1979 and 1980 interiors. It can be installed in other compatible 1974-1981 vehicles during a color conversion, but customers pursuing a factory-correct restoration should verify the original trim code.
1974 fitment note: Confirm that the vehicle uses the roof configuration with upper seat belt retractors. The AFH21 family includes the corresponding upper retractor cutouts.
T-top warning: The board is not supplied with a universal T-top opening already removed. Acme explains that different factory and aftermarket T-top conversions were used, so a T-top installation requires measuring and cutting the hardtop-shaped board for the vehicle’s exact roof system.
INSTALLATION NOTES
Remove the sun visors, visor brackets, side roof moldings, rear headliner trim, dome-light assembly and other components retaining the original headliner. Save all reusable screws, clips, brackets and trim because these items are not normally included with the replacement board.
Carefully remove the original headliner and test-fit the new ABS board before cutting the covering material. Confirm that the upper seat belt retractor cutouts and surrounding roof contours align properly with the vehicle.
The ABS board contains pre-cut openings for components such as the dome light and sun-visor brackets, but the foam-backed vinyl may cover those openings. After verifying each required location, make a small X-shaped cut through the covering, fold the material toward the rear of the board and secure it for a clean finished edge.
Install the board using the original attachment locations and surrounding roof trim. Do not force the board into position or overtighten the mounting screws, as excessive pressure could damage the ABS board, vinyl covering or original interior moldings.
Professional installation is recommended when converting the board for a T-top roof. The installer must determine the exact T-top system and follow the manufacturer’s cutting instructions before modifying the headliner.
Actual color appearance can vary due to lighting, screen settings, aged original components and production dye lots. Acme does not guarantee an exact color match between reference images and every material run, so comparing a physical sample with the existing Camel Tan interior is recommended.
