Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1974-1981 Camaro Light Blue Premier Perforated Vinyl Custom Bow-Style Headliner Conversion Kit, Acme UCH3-PRP1182.
This custom conversion kit replaces the original molded cardboard or fiberboard-style headliner with a suspended bow-style headliner system. Rather than gluing foam-backed material to a rigid board, the Light Blue vinyl headliner is supported across the roof by the supplied metal bows and mounting components.
The conversion eliminates the original cardboard and foam assembly. This removes the deteriorating foam layer that commonly separates from the board and allows the original headliner material to sag or fall away.
The headliner is manufactured from Light Blue Premier Perforated Vinyl. Acme identifies the material as PRP1182, while the complete Light Blue UCH3 conversion assembly is also cataloged as UCH3-38P.
This is a complete headliner conversion system rather than a replacement ABS or cardboard headliner board. Installation requires adding concealed mounting locations for the new bows. Once installed, the vinyl stretches across the roof using a traditional suspended-headliner design.
The kit includes two headliner bows, plastic bow attachment clips, two installation rods and instructions. The original sail panels are not included and must be reused, restored or recovered separately.

Fitment Warnings
Camaro application only: Firebird, Esprit, Formula and Trans Am applications were not found in the manufacturer or supplier fitment records reviewed. Do not cross-list this part for Pontiac models without direct confirmation from Acme.
Hardtop application: This listing should be restricted to hardtop or solid-roof Camaro models. It should not be represented as a T-Top headliner conversion kit unless Acme confirms compatibility with the vehicle’s exact roof configuration.
Original headliner system: This kit is intended to replace the molded board-style headliner assembly. It does not repair, recover or reuse the original headliner board.
INSTALLATION NOTES
Remove the original headliner board, sun visors, visor brackets, dome-light assembly, surrounding roof trim and sail panels as needed to access the roof structure. Save all reusable original trim, fasteners and sail panels.
Installation requires drilling mounting holes for the new bow hardware. The completed headliner conceals these holes after installation. Carefully measure and mark both sides before drilling so the corresponding mounting points remain level and symmetrical.
Install the supplied attachment clips and insert the bows through the sewn sleeves or listings on the back of the new headliner. Bow-style headliners are normally positioned and secured progressively, working from the center toward the edges to maintain even tension.
Center the material from front to rear and side to side before permanently securing the perimeter. Work in alternating sections rather than pulling one side completely tight before adjusting the opposite side. This reduces diagonal wrinkles and uneven material tension.
Carefully expose the dome-light, visor and accessory openings only after the headliner is correctly centered and tensioned. Begin with small cuts because removed material cannot be replaced.
The original sail panels are not included. Inspect them before installation and repair or recover them separately when necessary.
Professional installation is recommended because the conversion requires accurate measuring, drilling, bow placement and even stretching of the vinyl.
Electronic displays, photography lighting, aged original trim and production dye lots can affect perceived color. Compare a physical Light Blue material sample with the vehicle’s existing interior when close color matching is important.
