Restore the center section of your Formula or Trans Am rear tail-light panel with this OER reproduction fuel-filler door assembly. Manufactured from injection-molded material to original specifications, this assembly features the correct factory-style smoke-black lens appearance and red reflector along the lower edge.
The face includes the recessed mounting area for the original-style Firebird bird emblem. The hinge bracket, mechanical swing arm and tension spring are preassembled, providing a complete replacement for a cracked, faded, damaged, missing or improperly operating original fuel door.
This fuel door accepts either the silver-and-black Firebird emblem, part #5973147, or the gold-and-black Firebird emblem, part #5973148, allowing the correct emblem to be selected for the vehicle’s original appearance.
This smoked fuel-door design is appearance-correct only for 1979-1981 Firebird Formula and Trans Am models. Although it may physically interchange with other Firebird models, its smoked Formula/Trans Am appearance is not correct for Base Firebird or Esprit models.
