Hawks Motorsports offers our clients this 1974-1981 Camaro Firebird Trans Am Dark Blue Foam-Backed Cloth ABS Hardtop Headliner Board with Upper Seat Belt Retractor Cutouts, Acme AFH21-2092.
Replace a sagging, warped, cracked or deteriorated original headliner with this complete molded ABS replacement headliner board. It is pre-covered in Dark Blue foam-backed cloth, providing a finished interior surface without requiring the purchaser to separately install fabric over the board.
The molded ABS construction offers a durable alternative to an aged original pressboard or fiberboard headliner. The board is vacuum formed to follow the solid-roof Camaro and Firebird roof contour and is designed to work with the vehicle’s factory-style attachment points. The board also includes the upper rear seat belt retractor cutouts used with the applicable second-generation F-body interior arrangement.
The headliner arrives covered with foam-backed automotive cloth. Openings for the dome lamp, sun visor brackets and other mounting locations may remain covered by the cloth and should be carefully exposed only after the board has been test-fitted and the required openings have been confirmed.

Color application note: The AFH21 board family fits the broader 1974-1981 platform, but the 2092 Dark Blue cloth color is most closely associated with 1980-1981 Camaro and Firebird interiors. Earlier vehicles may use this board during a color conversion, but the original trim color should be verified when factory accuracy is required.
Roof-style warning: This listing is for the hardtop or solid-roof configuration. Although Acme’s AFH21 board can be modified for certain T-top applications, multiple T-top conversion designs were used. Customers with a T-top vehicle should confirm the exact roof system and required board before ordering or cutting.
INSTALLATION NOTES
Remove the sun visors, visor brackets, side roof moldings, rear headliner trim, dome-light assembly and any other components retaining the original headliner. Save all reusable clips, screws, brackets and trim because these pieces are generally not included with the replacement board.
Carefully remove the original headliner and test-fit the new ABS board before cutting the cloth or reinstalling the surrounding trim. Confirm that the upper seat belt retractor openings align correctly with the vehicle.
The ABS board contains pre-cut mounting and accessory openings beneath the covering material. Once the required opening is confirmed, make a small X-shaped cut in the cloth at the center of the opening. Fold the material toward the rear of the board and secure it to create a clean finished edge.
Reinstall the board using the original attachment locations and surrounding roof trim. Avoid forcing the board into position or overtightening screws, which could damage the ABS, covering material or interior moldings.
Professional installation is recommended when the original trim is brittle, damaged or incomplete. Color appearance may vary due to lighting, display settings, aging original components and production dye lots. Compare a physical sample with the existing interior when an exact Dark Blue match is required.
